Dear Uncle – II [The Letters]

Dear Uncle,

I know it’s been a pretty long time since you heard from me, and I apologize for that. So I received this letter from Aunty where she poured out her feelings to me, and I’ve reframed it lovingly. Read along!

Dearest, I’m really concerned about the pathway we are treading in this relationship. When I said ‘yes’ to your proposal, I said ‘yes’ to you being my priest, to you being my lord, my head, and most importantly, my friend.

Uncle, you know how friends always look out for one another in this journey of life, and since you are my best friend, I want to point this out to you. Recently, I’ve noticed that any time we meet, you talk mostly about my body and beauty. I appreciate the fact that you are vocal about this, but as the day goes by, your little comments are becoming sensual, and it disturbs me a lot. I can now barely think of anything apart from that.

The other day you told me about how beautiful my backside was which I felt good about, but somehow somehow, it brought a chemical reaction in my body and a spiritual provocation. I understand you were appreciating my curves, but must that be all you tell me each time we meet? Moreover, I know that before the mouth can say such a thing, the mind must have considered it over and over again, and this has a great influence on the heart.

Uncle, as much as you are looking forward to solving the mathematics of sexual relations with me, I am also looking forward to it. However, can we please talk less about these things for now? There’s time for everything, and that time is certainly not when we haven’t tied the knot.

Uncle dearest, remember: “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.” As much as it is important that we do not shy away from our feelings, it is more important that we control them diligently.
Look at what the Preacher reminded us to do:

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).

There’s a way the things that go on (even if only) in our minds subtly impact our actions, and we end up doing things which we never planned to do. So, dear, the next time you see me, can you please appreciate me without sounding sexual? We will talk about and do all these and more after we tie the knot.

I still remain your dearest, and I love you completely.

Much love,
Your Dearest Lover
